Cars Easter Tires

The Easter Buggy was here!! I love having seasonal decor in our house that makes Milo smile. Milo loves all things Cars at the moment. A few weeks ago I found an Easter Lightning McQueen at Target and found that there was a book to go with it, “The Easter Buggy”! After reading it almost daily, I decided that we should recreate a scene from the book to keep up during the season. Make these on your own, or get the kids involved decorating the Easter tires!
Supplies:
wheelbarrow tire
pool noodle
easter grass
spray paint
acrylic paint
food can
craft paper
hot glue
ribbon
Paint the tires
I used spray paint as a base coat so that I wouldn’t have to do as many layers of acrylic paint. It worked great!
Make the handle
I cut a pool noodle vertically to make a faux handle for the basket but you could use something else you may have on hand like wire, or handles from a basket you’re no longer using. Just attach with hot glue.
Make basket fillers
The book shows Mater and Lightning receiving Easter treats of eggs, lug nuts, and oil From the Easter Buggy! I had some extra pool noodle left to make some faux lug nuts. Just sliced with an exacto knife and spray painted!
The motor oil was made from emptied food Cans, using the same spray paint and some craft paper.
Add some Easter grass, Easter eggs and ribbon to make them festive!
I added a printed Lightning McQueen and Mater and attached them to foam board to sit next to their baskets.
I hope your family enjoys making these together!
Keep Making!
